Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I walk my dog on a regular basis?

Walking keeps dogs physically fit and mentally stimulated and can help reduce behavior problems such as separation anxiety and barking. It provides many health benefits that include keeping your pet healthy, agile and limber and can be extremely beneficial to your pets digestive system. Regular walks, as well as other forms of exercises, can help reduce or eliminate destructive chewing, digging, or scratching. Exposure to other animals, humans and different noises while receiving consistent positive reinforcement during regular walks can help build confidence and trust in the timid and fearful pets.

Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

Each individual of The Wag Staff comes with a reputation of achieving high standards in quality animal care for their industry and area. Our goal is to enhance the everyday lives of the beloved pets in our care while exceeding the expectations of our cherished clients. Our passion and commitment to your pets is the foundation of who we are and what drives us to be.

What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

Understand that we are not just your average dog walking & pet services company. We are trained in animal handling techniques, identifying aggressive behaviors and posturing, impulse control and behavior modification, plus, much more. We always carry water on us and keep a first aid kit in our car. We also carry citronella spray in case we come across a loose, aggressive dog on our walks. Our years of experience in this industry has taught us to be prepared for anything...... and we are!

What do you like most about your job?

It's very simple, providing love and enrichment to the pets in our care while providing peace of mind to our clients. We love what we do!

Are you insured & bonded?

Yes! The Wag Staff is fully insured and bonded through Business Insurers of the Carolinas. We are happy to show proof of our policy and liability limits during your consultation visit, just ask!

What do you do if there is an emergency?

FIRST–we are insured, bonded and pet CPR certified with years of experience handling pet related emergencies; SECOND–all clients fill out membership forms that provide us with crucial information about their pets needs, emergency contacts and veterinary information; THIRD–we communicate with the client at all times and have the best interest of their pets at heart, always.

Why should I leave a copy of my key with you?

Allowing us to retain a copy of your key provides us with the ability to assist you with emergency needs such as being locked out of your home  or providing care to your pets in the unforeseen event you are not able to make it home. Keys are kept in a locked system and are coded for client confidentiality.

My pet has sensitivities to vaccines. Do you accept titer tests?

Yes! Titer tests are blood tests that measure the level of antibodies your animal has made. All we need is proof from your vet stating the immunity levels have been met. We only require proof of vaccinations/titer tests for dogs enrolled in our Social Dog Walks and Swims.
